New Years Resolutions Update

Well, it’s the end of the second week of the new year, and that means it’s time for an update on my resolutions.  If you missed the previous article, you can read about the resolutions I made here.  The resolution that I’ve most been keeping up with is backing up my data.  So far, I’ve been doing weekly backups of the Verry Technical website using FileZilla.  The backups from last year further got zipped into a 7zip archive, making an approximate 4.5 GB folder into a 443 MB archive.  This years backups are being done weekly instead of monthly, just in case the gremlins try to take over the server :P .  On the personal files front, I’m working on uploading all of my photos to Microsoft’s SkyDrive service using an explorer extension called SDExplorer.  As you can see from the photo below, the upload is taking forever!  I have a feeling this is going to take more than a day :P .

The area that I still need to work out is the offsite storage aspect.  I’m waiting for hard drive prices to go back down, however.  So far so good though :) .

On the writing front, I should have 50 articles up this month thanks to the craziness that was the week of CES 2012.  I took today off from writing due to being a bit burnt out; however, I should be back at it tomorrow :) .  I’d definitely call this month a success as far as PC Per CES coverage went :) .

Last up is the exercising goal, and to be honest I’ve yet to head over to the gym.  I am planning to do so this week, however.  The past few weeks I’ve either been sick or covering CES and trying to get registered for school.  Now that both of those are out of the way and I’m feeling better I can start working on working out :) .  Stay tuned for more updates in the future!
